I felt this was an ideal time to run through the UK vaccine schedule for Infants, children in school and pregnant women.

Unfortunately, due to Covid 19 and the restrictions that ensued, many children are behind in receiving their standard immunisations and therefore are at risk of vaccine preventable diseases, even in the UK.

Therefore, I would advise that all of you check with your GP practice to ensure that your children are up to date and that Covid hasn’t caused your children to slip through net. You can also check the Immunisation Schedule (NHS 2023).

Babies Under 1 Year Old:
6-in-1 vaccine
Pneumococcal (PCV) vaccine
MenB vaccine
Rotavirus vaccine
Rotavirus vaccine overview

Children 1-15 Years Old:
Hib/MenC
MMR (measles, mumps and
rubella) vaccine
Children’s flu vaccine
4-in-1 preschool booster
HPV vaccine
3-in-1 teenage booster
MenACWY vaccine

Vaccinations in Pregnancy:

Some vaccines, such as the inactivated seasonal flu vaccine and the whooping cough vaccine, are recommended during pregnancy to protect the health of you and your baby. An inactivated vaccine does not contain a live version of the virus it is protecting against.

Some vaccines, such as the tetanus vaccine, are perfectly safe to have during pregnancy if necessary. But it does depend on the type of vaccination. For example, the MMR and yellow fever vaccines have potential risks, and you need to discuss these with your midwife or doctor before deciding whether to have the vaccine.
