On a fine and warm afternoon in June the Lower School held their Sports Day. The parents were invited to watch an array of school races and events.

The Transition children sped across on scooters and bikes in the first race of the event and later demonstrated their balancing skills when running to the finish line carrying a beanbag on a bat.

The Reception children displayed riding skills as they raced on hobby-horses and then caused great hilarity as they competed in the Hat Race. Year 1 entertained the crowd with their Egg and Spoon Race and showed off their skills and speed in the team Obstacle Race.

Our oldest pupils in Lower School wowed the parents at the length of throws in the Bean Bag Target Throw competition. The length of throws was so impressive, I had to jump out of the way as the bean bags came catapulting towards me!

Completing our Sports Event, Year 2 demonstrated their balancing skills, energetic star jumps, control and speed during their final Obstacle Race.

Well done to all the children who performed brilliantly and showed their sporting prowess.

Finally, as a fitting end to a sporting afternoon of entertainment, strawberries and cream were enjoyed by the parents and for this we thank chef and his team in the Norfolk House School kitchen.
