What can you do in your garden to help our prickly friends?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.norfolkhouseschool.co.uk\/nhs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/hedge-1-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3946\" width=\"217\" height=\"163\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.norfolkhouseschool.co.uk\/nhs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/hedge-1-3.jpg 389w, https:\/\/www.norfolkhouseschool.co.uk\/nhs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/hedge-1-3-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 217px) 100vw, 217px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Do\u2019s and Dont&#8217;s to protect hedgehogs in your garden<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Do leave some areas of wilderness where the hedgehogs can snuffle for insects.<\/li><li>Do put out water for drinking.<\/li><li>Do put out a bowl of dog food or meaty cat food around dusk.<\/li><li>Do install, in a quiet part of the garden, a hedgehog house.<\/li><li>Do look to see if your hedgehog is limping or appears to be injured, or in late Autumn look out for underweight hedgehogs.<\/li><li>Don\u2019t put out bread and milk.<\/li><li>Don\u2019t pick up fit hedgehogs.<\/li><li>Don\u2019t leave black sacks lying around.<\/li><li>Don\u2019t use slug pellets or other chemicals, they may poison hedgehogs and other animals.<\/li><li>Don\u2019t light a bonfire without checking to see if a hedgehog or other wild animal has moved in.<\/li><li>Don\u2019t fork over compost heaps in case hedgehogs or other animals have taken up residence.<\/li><li>Don\u2019t spray hedgehogs with dog or cat flea sprays.
