Hello Parents & Carers,
Welcome back to the Forest School Blog…
I am pleased to announce that all nine Forest School sessions were delivered across Norfolk Road, Harborne Road and Oxford Road last week!
We’ve had heaps of fun continuing to explore our Forest School spaces, immersing ourselves in lots of autumnal activities.
Some other exciting news is that we will be getting quite a large delivery of mixed saplings (young trees) next Spring from the Woodland Trust. It would be lovely to plan a stay and play across each of the sites, where you can get involved in planting some of the trees! This will be a great opportunity to create more habitats for local species of birds, mammals and insects, whilst also creating lots of learning opportunities for the children as they watch them grow and nurture them. Watch this space, more information to come in the New Year!
Another gentle reminder … please remember to bring spare clothes for your little one/s (especially on Forest School days), wellies and wetsuits, to ensure that your child can make the most of waterplay and wet weather!
Norfolk Road: Playing in the trolley cart, using the torch in the woods, watching Paige clean out the pond, playing wolf chase.
Harborne Road: Looking for bugs, waterplay, balancing on beams and logs, storytime, mark making with chalk.
Oxford Road: Using tools, playing in the rain, colouring, balancing on stumps.
