By Take a Leaf Forest School & Private Tutoring

Although it has been too windy for the children to come out today I’ve been very busy at 3 Norfolk Road. There are lots of exciting changes for the Forest School site! Here are some of the site work that has been happening –
1.I have cleared the site to make way for our woodland floor wood chip so that the floor will now be non slip and will look like a beautiful woodland floor!
2. I have enlarged the fire circle to allow extra room for our new children and they are now ready to paint!
3.I have created a muddy play kitchen for the children to explore.
4. I have moved the tree swing to a more accessible position!
5.I’ve had a good clear out of the shed and we are getting new storage shelves next week!
6. At Take A Leaf Forest School we promote independence so I have been busy sorting the shelter to allow children to independently choose resources to use in the forest!
7. I have been clearing ,cutting and maintaining our tree climbing area!

8. I have put up lovely clean bunting!
9. I have created a large den building area to allow the children to make taupalin and natural material dens.We are looking forward to using up lots of old Christmas trees I have collected for the children to build with . This massively helps the children’s gross and fine motor skills ,developing communication and team work skills .
10. I have also camouflarged our plastic tunnel to look a bit more forest schooly!
11.Cleared rotten wood off minibeast hotel so that the children can add to it.
12.Next week I will also be picking up a kind donation of tree stumps for our fire circle and some den building natural materials from the National Trust at Kinver!
