About us
Norfolk House School is an independent school in Birmingham for boys and girls aged between 3 and 11 years. Our focus is upon academic excellence and the provision of a complete social education which emphasises good manners, mutual respect and self-discipline. With a history spanning more than 90 years, we have ensured that generations of pupils have been thoroughly prepared for the next stage of their academic careers, commonly at one of the region’s excellent grammar or independent senior schools.
We believe that high achievement goes hand-in-hand with enjoyment and self-fulfilment. Whether in the classroom, on the sports field or engaged in the many extra curricular activities we offer, our pupils can be found maximising their potential and having a great deal of fun in the process. We are, first and foremost, a happy school. We are very proud of our close-knit community and family atmosphere.
Our home is a large, beautifully appointed period house on the elegant Calthorpe Estate, just a few minutes’ drive from Birmingham City centre and short walk to Edgbaston Village Metro stop. Small class sizes and a maximum pupil roll of 160 mean that we are able to offer our pupils a bespoke experience. We adapt our learning programmes to suit their abilities and interests and encourage independent thought at every opportunity. Norfolk House School provides a level of pastoral care which helps them to develop into well-rounded, responsible and resilient individuals.
