The children in Reception have been using their senses to experience Bonfire night! The children smelled burnt toast, tasted toffee apples, felt crunchy Autumn leaves and watched a bonfire and fireworks display. The children then thought of ‘wow’ words to describe Bonfire night, and used their phonic knowledge to write their own poems:
Bonfire night is sparkly
Bonfire night is crunchy
Bonfire night is burning
Bonfire night is sweet
Bonfire night is BANG!’
