As part of a topic focusing on biography and autobiography, Year 4 created explanatory posters about Anne Frank, writing about her life and the impact that her diary has had on the lives of others. This writing and understanding, acts as a precursor to the study of a topic about World War II later in the year and introduces the idea of how information is used in a variety of ways.

Anne Frank was a Jewish girl who lived in Germany  with the Nazis. She died in the concentration camp in Auschwitz from typhus.

Anne Frank was famous because of her diary. Otto, her dad,  published the book in Dutch in 1947.   Anne Frank wrote about her life and her feelings in her diary.  Anne was given her diary as a present on her thirteenth birthday.

She was taken to concentration camp on 4th August 1944.

Miep Gies found the diary and gave it to Anne’s father unread.  Otto published the diary on June 25th 1947.
