Pupils from Years 2 – Year 6 visited the Rep in Birmingham this week to see their production of The Wizard of Oz.  Here are some of their reviews!

Simply Amazing! When we arrived, it was crowded but, luckily, there was not too much of a queue so we grabbed our seats and waited for it to begin. When it did, I was so happy we came. The actors were amazing. They blew us away with their singing and dancing. It was about a girl named Dorothy who lands up in a land named Oz and leads a lot of adventures. It was one of my favourite theatre performances. For me it was the perfect family play.

My score: 9.1/10

As soon as the Norfolk House children approached the theatre they were very enlivened to watch the show. When we sat down comfortably and the theatre was packed, the characters made a great musical introduction by playing instruments.

The first scene was that Toto got into the mean lady’s garden. The lady demanded Dorothy to give the dog back but she refused and her friends turned on her…soon the twister captured Dorothy, the effect at this point was mind blowing. The lights were flashing and there were noises representing the storm. In a blink of an eye, she was in the mysterious Munchkin land with many friendly creatures.

Later on, Dorothy met the Scarecrow, Tin Man, Lion and the Wizard.

Then we had a break, ate biscuits and drank some water. The children couldn’t wait. The music started. We watched the rest of the production!

The children loved it and rated it 9/10!!!

Singing, dancing and a sprinkle of snow, the Wizard of Oz was a great ADVENTURE!!!
